Hi Reader,

A treat for you all this month - it's not a city spotlight, but a country spotlight!

Behind the scenes, the TDK team have been talking, sharing and raving about the work coming out of Nigeria.

Can we call it iconic? Yeah, lets do it. Nigerian design creativity is iconic. This month we share the interviews of Okeowo Adeniyi and Roqeebat Abdulwahab and we meet the new city host of Enugu, Juliet Oyiga. Want to be inspired? This is the issue not to skip.

We are still taking pre-orders for the TDK book which will be out later this year. In our first ever book (!!) we will feature city guides, features and articles from big name creatives and emerging designers, we can't wait to share it with you!

If you're in Jakarta, Melbourne or Cape Town, you have live events and #TDKTuesdays near you, jump into our online community to check out our other events and more - there is always stuff to learn and discover.

Have a great month everyone - and please send us through anything that looks awesome out there. Get in touch via Insta, Linkedin or reply to this email!

oh! One more thing. We're going to be launching TDK Studio in the next few weeks πŸ™ŒπŸ½ featuring behind-the-scenes interviews with Pros, creative briefs to build your folio and group feedback sessions, and more.

Okeowo Adeniyi

Lagos-based and Yoruba-rooted, Okeowo has built a practice shaped by two philosophies that might seem like opposites: reductionism, which strips everything back to its simplest form, and wabi-sabi, which makes space for experimentation and imperfection.

Roqeebat Abdulwahab

Roqeebat's Yoruba and Muslim background shapes how she thinks about communication through design. Right now she's translating Yoruba words and phrases into illustrations based on their literal meanings β€” and the playfulness and depth she's finding there is becoming the heart of her practice.

Juliet Oyiga

Say hello to our new city host!

An archeology graduate and a designer, Juliet lives in Enugu State in Nigeria.

"I love being part of a community it brings out the best in me, especially when I get to see and learn from peoples experience"
